The Seibu in Ikebukuro has a brilliant basement food area with separate ones for sweet and savoury. Well worth a visit. Also the Pikachu sweets at Sunshine City is a great place to get a themed snack without the arduous booking process of the Pokemon Cafe. Not that Pokemon Cafe isn’t great, just that you have to be really organised to get your booking arranged so you can visit. Love that you highlighted Ikebukuro as a good place for anime fans.

Thank you for the comments. I absolutely love how the Pokemon company has transformed the 2nd floor of Sunshine City into a massive Pokemon nerdgasm. The last time I was there the Pikachu Sweets store sold out of their offerings so I could not try it. I agree with your points about the Pokemon cafe. It is just impossible to go there without a reservation.
